Back at it today after my kidney stone week last week, went well and I always leave enough calories for a couple of rich tea biscuits at the end of the day.

It'll get easier McG. I used to get dizzy and feel sick but I've been fasting twice a week for about 15 months now and barely think about it. That said, looking forward to getting through today and having Five Guys for lunch tomorrow :)

Anyone made any nice fast day dinners lately? Tonight I'm making carrot spaghetti in a soft cheese sauce with smoked river cobbler.

Fast day today & I'm hungry! Think it's after hard 10 miler on Sunday, then pushing myself harder than expected at speed session last night, and being tired/not sleeping well. Trying to save most of my calories for tea tonight.

Last week, I did baked chicken breast, with a bit of thyme on top, and a mushroomy sauce with little bit of light cream cheese for creaminess, with cauliflower rice and salad - even the fiancé was impressed with how much we got and the tastiness for that amount of calories.

Intermittent Fasting Study
Hi Everyone,

We are new to the forum, I hope you don't mind us dropping in, but we noticed that you were talking about the 5:2 diet.

We are researchers, looking to understand more about the psychological effects of the 5:2 diet in healthy adults. Not much research has been done so far into this, so we would love it if you can help us find out more! We will be investigating the diet’s impact on mood, cognition (thinking), and eating behaviour. We would like to compare how people answer certain questions before and after starting the diet, and how they perform on certain online tasks on fasting and non-fasting days.

We are looking for people (aged 18-65) who have not yet started the 5:2 diet, but intend to do so for at least a month, to take part in our research. Participation will involve completing questionnaires, and doing online experimental tasks. You can participate from anywhere as the study can be completed online and over the phone.

All participants will be entered into a prize draws to win Amazon vouchers. There will be 12 vouchers in total to be won (ranging from £20-£100). For each person taking part in the study we will also donate £1 to charity and, and you will be able to vote for the charity this money goes to. Once we have completed the study, all participants will also receive a summary of the findings.

If you think you might be interested in taking part, or would like more information, please contact us to find out more. Email intermittent.fasting.study@gmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you,
Jasmin Langdon-Daly and Kate Mahony

Most people on here have already started the 5:2 however you might get the odd newbie to the diet. It would be really interesting to see the results of the study, would you update us here. There is also a fasting thread in cyclechat.net you may get some volunteers there.

Been on and off %:2 far too long to take part in the study but good luck

1lb off for me this week. Been stuck for a few weeks at the same weight so good to see it finally shift in my favour :-) Just got to keep it moving now .......by moving more myself I guess :-/
