Awesome Fleecy!!!!
So proud of my 70% in this essay, shows some progression in the way I write, as always they find something though - this time - 'should have been more of 'me' in it', but as I was already at the word limit what should I have removed??

Well done Tomsmum, 70% is amazing
I just had 4 weeks off sick. Back to placement today. It was actually ok after winding myself up all last night. I am so behind with literally everything though *cries*

Tomsmum - can you ask the marker? Which bits did you include that they thought unnecessary?
Although 70% is always good to get.
Do they share - or do you ask - for the mark schemes. When I did my MBA, we were quite quick to start asking and that tailored my essays to tick as many boxes as possible - and helped with the size of each section.
Mind you, I hated word limits, especially those that were '1 side of A4, minimum font 10'.

All assessments should come with marking criteria for definite.
TM, it sounds like the way you say things rather than what you say. The marker might have wanted to know more what your viewpoint is. Carp, that's what mitigating circumstances are for!

Hello everyone, I'm back (for those that remember me). I took a year out last year, to avoid exploding; but have just had my viva to transfer from MPhil to PhD, and it went ok, so I'm back.
Looks like I've missed a lot on here: congrats to Andrew65, and to Fleecy. Sorry to have missed those achievements when they actually happened! I'll pay more attention now, as I think this might be the best place to lurk for a mutual support network.
I keep having to remind myself that I'm not writing a book, or even a series of articles:
I'm writing a PhD, and that's a different thing altogether. It's a difficult style to get into my head. Ho hum.

Yes, yes I can, thank you Fleecy, I'm going to treat this as marathon training, only spread over 3 years.

As TeeBee tweeted just before I submitted, doing a PhD is more like high intensity interval training! I think that’s a good analogy
