The Mighty Fleecy
A third will do fine Carp, just passing is a massive achievement. If you have any more essays Iβm happy to help. Also, maybe chat about the feedback if itβs not clear?

Same here.
If the rubric has all higher marks then ask for an explanation. The reflective stuff sounds odd. Reflection is descriptive.

Hey Carp you wrote it over night with no prep and got 30% that's good going! You've got pointers and something to work from for the re sub. More than if you'd not submitted at all.
With reflection... (and sorry if you know this already) describe then analyse- that's your critical thinking demonstration. I did this (your reflection) , could have done this (analysis), because XYZ paper/ latest research suggests it but Marsden manual says this.
I also HATE Gibbs cycle with a passion, so I use John's. I often used a small paragraph saying why I preferred once cycle over another- with refs etc.
Don't worry about scores... you get the same registration as everyone else. I've only got my DipHE with my Paed NMC registration. I often think sometimes those with the lowest marks have achieved far more than those with the 1sts. They've far worked harder, with more going on and still passed. Often against everything! Just keep going.
Sorry for long post..π³

I also think it would be worth asking the marker to go through the feedback if possible. There's always the possibility that there's been a mistake, especially if your essay wasn't double marked for some reason (we would always double mark a fail, but others don't).
When I use a rubric, I always use the mark it produces, as I'd otherwise be too harsh, but they may find the opposite effect and correct for it across the board. It's also possible the rubric only covers some of the mark, and things like structure and presentation may also be included.

exam result out a day earlier than expected, passed pretty much on the nose and should be an upper second degree if my sums are right.

Well done Scorge
Thanks GG and 1step. Finally had a meeting today. I apparently have all the stuff in there to pass I just need to reorganise it.
Not this week though. Last week of placement and I hate it so much it feels like a year.
