And that's the last assignment of the term in - it was really hard and basically impossible to meet what it asked for in the word limit - the more you read the more you have to say! I am also sure that some of the referencing was wrong Tutor contact was quite poor this term too - I guess thats a problem with distance learning courses and with the strike no-one responded in the last week or so (no criticism of what they were striking about but for an assignment to be due in on the last day was a bit unfair!) I am fairly sure I won't have a got a great mark for this one but at the moment I would be happy with a pass! Anyhow time to get up to speed on Christmas and read all the things that are non-course related before term starts again in mid-January

Well done - especially with added stress of no contact. I hope you're reading something fun now!

Well done TM. I have my last assignment due in on the 16th. It's an e-portfolio which I've really struggled with. I spent all day Friday and Sunday on it so feel like I've had no weekend. I've emailed and asked for some feedback on my pathophysiology and biopsychosocial elements (we are allowed to ask for feedback on three areas but don't think I have time to alter too much now) I need to finish my references and start revising for my safe medicate exam. First practice one is on Friday and I'm working a full week this week too. It is what it is. At this point I'll be happy with a pass.
We found out last week that one of the university tutors has died. It was a total shock. I know she'd been ill last year and I have since found out she's not back at work since. I think they're doing a post mortem and funeral is in about a weeks time. I've only been taught by her once but everyone who knows her is devastated.
I found out on Thursday because my summative assessment was late (due to my mentor not getting it done in time, her sickness and working on different shifts) I have been penalised by my whole semester grades being capped at 40%. I'm gutted because I worked really hard and managed to get a grade A and grade B. It now feels like why did I bother. We were told if you failed an exam and did a retake you'd be capped at 40% but nothing about placement issues and it affecting the whole of your semesters grades. I told my tutor I had a problem and she told me not to worry about it 😔 If I was aware of it I would have gone in on my own time to make sure it got done! I've asked if there's anyway I can dispute it so I guess we'll see.
Loving my current placement seem to be getting to do plenty and they are very organised which is a huge bonus especially after my last two placements.

You should not be penalised for someone else's issues, EB. Make sure you put in a mitigating circumstances claim or whatever they are called where you are.

Sorry about your tutor. One of our colleagues died a few years ago and it (obviously) sends shockwaves through the whole community.

That's terrible EB Both about your tutor and being capped. Definitely appeal it.
Still no news on my diss proposal. I don't have time to seek someone out after classes as I have to get up to a relative's straight after.

It was end of last semester so around June. I tried submitting a mitigation request at the time of 'failing' the summative assessment only to be told it needed to have been submitted before it was due. I was then told I was also too late for an extension because I hadn't been told about until the deadline for that had passed. Not sure I can ask for mitigation at this point 🤔
