Daughter coming home on 13th. Her uni have said they’re doing staggered returns in Jan, but she should be able to go back straight away as she has a practical course.

My kids’ school is very sought after for places, but their online learning is not great. There has been nothing interactive at all and lesson content is uploaded as text. D15 has been told to self isolate 3 times (2&3 pretty much concurrent though) and she’s finding it really hard to be motivated. She almost rolled her eyes when I gave her the Y11 revision booklet they sent through the post. She has a July birthday, so that might be a disadvantage to her too - she’s a lot younger in her maturity compared to some of her friends who are already 16.

S13 is a nightmare. I was furloughed throughout lockdown 1 and he needed me there one to one. He was recently diagnosed with Asperger’s but has no educational plan yet and school haven’t put any extra support in place for him. I’m “trying” to wfh full time and trying to keep him working, but it’s not going so well. He’s at home due to staff absence, so I really hope he can return on Monday! The school work is hard enough for him, but without routine, his character and behaviour also becomes a lot harder to tolerate. Think energiser bunny!

So glad the kids are almost home 😃. Must be especially tough for first timers.

Great news, Katie!

Kaysdee, I have a July baby, too. You can really tell. And she's v tall, so people expect more from her.

Yes, my kid is 6ft 1 and size 9 shoe! Let me tell you, before coronavirus, she ordered a single of cheese at McDonald’s using their customise order options just to see what the server would say 🙄😄

She can’t wait to go to sixth form college as her style is punk/goth and you can imagine the uniform expectations of a Catholic school! (That was her other reason for not going to their 6th form - she fundamentally disagrees with their judgement on non Catholic “lifestyles”)

I'm fed up of football boots. Boys have to have them for school but boy 2 (13y) has size 10 feet and wide. Football boots seem to be so narrow.

Boy 3 has lost his 2nd pair since September.
