I forgot to report back into this thread. I didn't run the Peterhead 10k in the end. It was my wife's birthday that weekend and we just ended up being busy!
Back in the hunt - Garioch 10k - 23 March.
I am actually hoping to run sub 40 if all goes to plan, but seeing as 42:01 is still my PB, sub 42 would be decent as it will be a PB, sub 41 was becoming my target but the training is going very well, so hopefully sub 40 is a real possibility... We'll see!

That would be a great 10k PB calumcrighton - good luck! Sounds like a PB is on the cards for you, and hence sub-42, it's just a case of by how much!
I have another 10k on Sunday at Bourton and hoping for another sub-42 and if possible a small PB. Will report back after! Sub-40 is way out of my league currently - I need to try and get a sub-20 5k first!

Good luck to you both. I wont be running a 10 until July but is a possibility then if I have recovered from 24hr race (as part of a pair) 2 weeks before. Aiming for a 1.30 half (next Sunday) and sub 3.20 at VLM first.

Good luck with the half, May for 10k for me, September for sun 1:30 half and October for sub 3:15 Marathon. Injuries permitting and a bit of luck too.

Hoping to get 42 cracked at Eastleigh on 23 March. Been running long and off road recently though, so speed training has gone out the window other than at parkrun.
My last 2 10k's have both been 42.02! So nearly there. Think I will make myself do it, even if I snap my ankles and cough a lung up...

Hello. I'm hoping to break 42 at the BUPA London 10,000 in 9 weeks My current PB from October last is 44:05, but I've just completed a block of training culminating in a 1:36:15 Half at Colchester yesterday. I pretty much have the next 9 weeks' training mapped out, but I'll definitely be stopping by here for advice if you'll have me

Go for it MT. My advice would be to aim for 6.46mm pace
