Wow well done Curly brilliant!
My 10k is 3 weeks away and I have no idea how it will go. Have been battling with injury for the last few weeks so not especially hopeful - and if I think racing a 10k may jeopardise my marathon training further, I may not do it. But, plenty of time yet and the plan at the moment is to set out at sub-43 pace and see what happens...

Can't believe I didn't look for this thread before, although it seems to have been a bit quiet recently!
Sunday I hope to hit sub 42. Weird, but I have never run a 10k before, I ran a 47:09 7 mile last November, but things haven't gone totally to plan since then. This will be my first race since then, excluding a 20:28 parkrun 7 weeks ago. I have put a reasonable mileage in, but haven't prepared for a flat 10k.
I meant to run under 6 miles at 7:30 pace yesterday and go my bearings wrong and did over 7. Will see how it goes, aim for 6:45 pace and try not to get carried away as it is a small field (250 max).

I am always willing to update if fetchies post upcoming events mr d, will put you down now, good luck.
I have changed my goals since the thread started though and am now concentrating on long slow stuff so this may be something I never get round to, that is fine though.

My PB is 42.50. I'm nowhere near ready yet for sub 42, but I would like to get 42.30 in July. I'm just coming back from 6 weeks out, but managed 43.25 on a hilly course on Sunday. Perhaps I can get a sub 42 in the autumn/winter if I can stay uninjured.

Terminator, thanks and a great new goal. I'd love to do an Ultra, probably haven't got time to train for it for a few years though. GF that's a great time on a hilly course, especially if you think there is more in the tank!

There wasn't really more in the tank I don't think, that was as much as I had.
I tried to do a 5k last night- my legs were still totally toast from Sunday and I did 21.13- only 3 secs a mile quicker than Sunday lol. I'm ok with that though, I nearly didn't run it because I still had bad DOMS. We have another 5k in 2 weeks time and I want to get under 21 there- then I just need to do it for twice as long
