*Peers in* hello! not sure i should really be in here just yet but am going for a 42:xx 10k on sunday so who knows after that where it could lead on the right course on the right day! sunday's race will be undulating so a pb will be a tall order (current pb 43:07) but shall give it my best shot... race predictors suggest it's possible off my recent 5m and 6m races. the 6m one was also v undulating so who knows!

I ran Bushy and got 45:54 on my Garmin. I used a number belt instead of pins and my number twisted round to my back during the race and I didn't notice until a race official pointed it out in the finishing funnel. I've been given a time of 45:35 and 101 place in the provisional results. I know that's incorrect and I've contacted Bushfield's results secretary. I'm probably not going to receive a time but I'd rather that than get a PB I didn't run and push athletes who beat me in the race down the order in the published results.
Bourn next and it's a hilly one. I'll beat last year's time easily and should go sub-45 but probably not by much.

Thanks for the support all, unfortunately it wasn't meant to be yesterday due to the hilly course - 43:16. I know I could knock 30 seconds + off that on a flatter course on the right day, so am taking the positives. km split pace varied from 4:50 on the slowest hilliest to 3:56 on the final downhill km!!! I have never run that fast for a whole KM in a race before! I finished feeling strong so have a few nagging doubts that I didn't try hard enough, but actually I think I gave it my best shot on a course not renowned for being a PB course! Have blogged the race and splits in case anybody is sufficiently interested or bored at work!!

That's an excellent run. As FR says on the blog comments, head over into the Fens for a flat one and smash 42 into pieces.

Half Empty
Slowly getting there. Had a tough 5k race on Wednesday which took 21:20, was basically 2k downhill, then turn round and back up the hill before a final flat k. Then last night we had a club handicap where I ended up doing 6.29 miles in 44:36 which would have been my second fastest 10k. This also managed to include up and down one of the only few hills of note in the area.
