Top effort Bowman - still a pb despite the conditions. Something to be proud of regardless of headline numbers!

Congratulations on the PB Bowman. As has been said it's miles in the legs and training in the bank.

As you said in your blog: I think in good conditions Iโ€™m sure youโ€™d be in sub 3 shape.

Excellent running on what sounds like a terrible day. Be proud, a PB at any time is to be celebrated. One in those conditions just points to something much faster to come.

Book some flights to Manchester for April and then relax for a couple of weeks!!

Thanks Windsor.
Maybe Manchester:) Iโ€™ll read about that marathon.
Iโ€™m looking at CPH marathon right now, itโ€™s two weeks earlier than 2023, that might be a bit less risky with the heat.

I love CPH marathon but unless the course has changed it isn't the fastest. I remember a few twists and turns, kerb hopping and cobbles?

Itโ€™s very narrow and twisty and usually a lot of people as well, but theyโ€™ve change it a bit, I think last year even. Donโ€™t remember if I noticed any difference though.
Maybe not the best for a pr, but probably good enough under the right weather conditions.

And to think I've done Mancs 6 years in a row and had perfect conditions each time. Never more than a small breeze (inevitably a tailwind on the 2nd half when we're strung out) and fresh but not freezing temps, sometimes a few spots of drizzle but no proper rain. I'm sure my luck will change some time...

Just did my longest run since the marathon itself, a few metres short of 16km! I'm not in training yet, not even in pre-training, but perhaps I can call it pre-pre-training.
