Nice running LMH
I did the Scottish Half Marathon on Sunday, cruising along for the first 7k, but when we hit the coast and into the wind for the next 14k it all went to pot. Finished in 1:21:49 but difficult to know where I am actually at given the wind.

Nothing like wind to make paces go to pot DMH!
Plenty of time yet to build more data though about where you are I guess?
I ran the requisite parkrun one week out from Chester today. 16:56 - which is a proper pb (rather than comeback pbs post 8 year running hiatus) - well pleased!

Yep this weather forecast is starting to focus the mind.
Chester seems slightly cooler than the South and they’ve added some clouds. Dorney has a bit hotter and far fuller sun.
They all love to start optimistic though, these weather apps, right?
You feeling confident Chris?

I’m pretty peed off about the weather, I was hoping for 6 degrees and light drizzle. Since when does October get up to 25 degrees! On the plus side the window is low which is a big plus for dorney.
Not sure how I’m feeling to be honest, recent races have been a bit below par but I’ll give it a go

Hi gang, long time lurker here. Interested to know what folks think about going sub 3 on the Pfitzinger/Douglas 50 mile per week plan. Has anyone here done it? About to start building for a February marathon. Am I just kidding myself? Not sure I can stick the bigger volume one...

I couldn’t Matty but you’re a bit faster than me so it might get you there. I was running 83ish for the HM when I was on P&D and could never quite convert….
Plenty of folks do it off that volume of course. Plenty, probably more if I had to hazard a guess, need a few more miles to tip then over the line. The only way to find out is to try!!

Not that particular plan (JD for me), but for my best marathons, fetch's awesome training log tells me I've covered between 1500 and 1580km in 18 weeks which works out as 52-55 miles per week average (not max). A bit more than this in the middle, typically edging up to 60 miles or so through the middle jan/feb period.
A little bit of cycling and sometimes swimming on top. Not a lot of either though.
The easy miles aren't really the hard part, it's doing the tough sessions on tired legs. I have a beautiful 10 mile circuit I could do every day.
