You're always liable to get doms when you start doing new stuff even if basically fit. As little as one workout a week should generally keep it at bay one you are used to that particular exercise though.

jda, i've been a bit lazy with my sessions which is probably why this happened. i've chalked it up to experience and make sure i'm doing at least a session a week.

I try to make myself get to the gym at least once a week but still expect to feel it a bit in my run the next morning (gym visits are in the afternoon).
How are things now Brunski?

Feeling much more positive this week thanks LMH, just blogged a bit about needing the focus of an upcoming race for me to enjoy running.
The groin/hip flexor pain seems to be subsiding and I’ve been much more careful on the feet. There’s even been a couple of days I’ve got on Mrs B’s spin bike instead instead of having a run.
Keep up the strength work and run easy for a while, then Look to book in a 10k toward the end of the year before going into a full 18 week PLAN up to London next year as long as the GfA time I submitted stands up (should do).
Anyone had London GfA approval yet, thought it was today they let folk know?

Sounds good Brunski - I'll have a read of the blog later. It was supposed to be today VLM let us know but I haven't heard of anyone receiving an email yet.

Got my GFA place approved, apparently the ask was 2 mins 40 below whatever you could apply for as a GFA.... So those with 2:57:20 or better for under 40s, or 3:02:20 for me. Wouldn’t have got in with my 3:04 at London 2018, so glad I did Valencia (and then Rome).
Fingers crossed others that applied got in as well.

Just got mine accepted too - buzzing again as much now as when I ran the time 😃

With an hour buffer I wasn't expecting to not get in. Why are the times different for men and women though - women have to be 4.15 under the qualifying time and men only 2.40 - I guess that's because more women ran GFA times?
