18:20 (unofficial) for me tonight, pretty pleased with that overall. Fastest 5k since my PB a couple of years ago and that was actually on a (probably) short course. Blustery evening and I set off rather ambitiously with a 3:28 first km, fortunately did not blow up too badly.
Did have the magic shoes of course. Maybe I should have a proper go at sub-18 some time but the suitable races don't tend to fit my training.
Back on the long steady stuff for a while again.....

And pleasingly I now have completed the full set of PBs in 2019 in terms of wava, though not quite in absolute times. A benefit of aging

Nicely done jda, time to get reviewing that York target?
Got a cold so probably shouldn’t have done 2” today, it damn near killed me!
Off to London for a couple of days on a training course. Are there any decent places to run near tower bridge where I won’t be people dodging?

Haha yep, 2 inches was all I could manage 😁
I feel a ‘that’s what she said’ quote is appropriate here 🤔

I did 18 today with 10 just over mp ( there was an easy mile in the middle) then a tempo mile at the end. Surprised to exceed the tempo pace when I wasn’t quite hitting the mp.

Well given what is already promised in the sidebar it certainly won't be going down for a while, if ever Guess I should be comfortably under 3h at least though, assuming I get in a few more miles. I'm feeling quite relieved as I had started to seriously wonder if I was past it. This summer jogging really doesn't agree with me. Seem to have chosen a good August to start training in though, some lovely refreshing showers and a cool breeze this morning. First 20-miler completed, went through a bit of a tough patch around 15ish but ended up reasonably happy. About 600,000 times further than you managed, Chris:-)

Chris, re London:
If you are near Tower Bridge, you could consider Southwark Park - not huge but you could do some laps of that. The default setting around there is to head to the Embankment and run towards St James' / Green Park. There will be people dodging for sure but if you do it early, it's not too bad. I would avoid it in the evening.
