lol, if I do similar in my run this weekend Fordy then I would take that as sub 3 shape. Albeit I will wear an HRM and let that guide me as well

I can't run MP without a number on Fordy and you have the taper to come too so why not see how you feel on the day.

Chris - exposed yes but not overly windy I don't think but then I was brought up on the edge of the fens and visit friends there quite regularly so am probably just used to it. I'll just have to hope for a sub 3 train to sit in with if it's bad on the day.

Yeah I was thinking 11 at true MP is a good achievement but fordyboy probably knows himself better than we do...you could do something like my plan of setting off around target pace and seeing what happens :-)

Brunski - WAVA is quality + longevity. You win on quality, I just sneak in extra longevity.

jda - the ability to guess the age of the crop haired baldy guy ahead is one of the skills of age group running ;-). Actually this time I knew the guy I chased for 6 miles was younger as I'd seen him at the start. Only I'd mixed up my V50 competition with his younger shaven headed teammate! It was just the joy of racing that made me battle him to the end.

LMH - 103 miles. Makes me feel tied just thinking about it!

Fordyboy - YOU ARE IN SUB-3 SHAPE!!! That previous long run you did was way harder and faster than I'd do, and no-one likes MP training runs, it feels so much easier in race conditions. Feel confident in your ability and get your pacing right and my money is on you reaching your goal.

Excellent racing and blog Brunski - the power of positive thinking!

I'm struggling 57.5 but trying for one last big week. I know I'll go a bit mad when I can't run as much in the taper. Legs are ok apart from my left knee which is getting increasingly niggly but I probably did that no favours by making the most of the good weather yesterday with a MLR though having been woken up by the rain in the small hours this morning I'm glad I did, it doesn't look/sound nice out there today so a shorter run will be welcome.

Morning All. Thanks for the encouraging words. I think I'm just going to see how I feel on the day and take it from there.

Nice racing Brunski - very impressive. Looks like everyone else is ticking along nicely too :)

Fordyboy - see how you feel on the day is always a good plan.

That said, I agree with all the others. I'm barely getting close to MP in any of my runs at the moment and its feeling a struggle, so I'd be chuffed to bits with 11 at that pace. I'm still confident though, because I know that it's the cumulative fatigue that is slowing me at the moment but with a proper taper and race conditions, my abilities should be restored.

And top running Brunski!
