Lee, I'm not thinking taper just yet, I need to squeeze in my longest run, prob 22/23 miles and we're away Friday/Saturday so I'm currently thinking pre-work on Thursday for another daft 'o clock long run.
I'm not following as such, just taking bits from here and there and cobbling them together whilst trying to keep the mileage within certain ranges. This week is another big one for me, but next week will also be about 80% of where I am now, including 2 of 3 quicker sessions, just dropping the mileage a bit.
I'm going for a parkrun PB effort a week on Saturday, so 7th April.

I'm a week ahead of most of you but only taper for two weeks - it's as much as my brain can stand! The last two weeks of high mileage I'm usually talking myself out of the door with the promise of the taper to come but when it gets here I'll be going slightly mad as I can't run as much as I want.

2 week taper for me also....well I kind of reduce miles a wee bit 3 weeks out, but 2 weeks out is when it really starts

Brunski, I'm with you for the tried and tested method of 'cobbling together a training plan from bits I like the look of'

paul0 - Too much of my life (work and kids) is based around a plans, I could do without so much of that in something I enjoy. I'd like to think I've spent (wasted) enough time reading up various bits on running/training to know roughly what I need to be doing now, and whilst the improvements are coming I'm sticking to it.
The main thing I like to try to do is work on my weaknesses from previous attempts (particularly in the marathon) whilst trying to stay injury free.

That's what I like about JD. Just two proper sessions a week, which I have been basically trying to do this time round but interpret a bit flexibly sometimes. The rest is just mileage with a weekly target that I also don't pay a huge amount of attention to.
Last year I sort of went into a three week taper by default due to being tired and falling apart in the week three workouts. This time round I'm happy with two. Aiming to do an hour plus parkrun on Sat and not much the week after.
