Like clare, I'd have to get back under 20 consistently first! But I was hitting low 19:1x before I tore my calf, so hopeful of getting back here.
Like larks said, I think marathon training actually is pretty good 5k/ 10k training at my level. Forces me to do the miles and, with most plans, has a decent amount of speed work in it.
Number one training factor to improve race performances - don't get injured! I shall retry after that London thing in 9 days! G

Ooh, so close.
Didn't quite have the belief in the last mile so after 5:56, 5:56 dropped to 6:18 for the last one (though it was uphill too), but had I known I'd be just one second out I'm sure I could have found that somewhere.
Pretty pleased with an all time parkrun PB of 19:01 though on a course which had measured 3:14 miles both times I've run it. 3rd place with my eldest up front just under 18 mins and now my 9 year old crushing his pb to come in 20th in 23:20.
Just to complete the mornings work, 11 mile run home uphill done too.

Well done family larkim
Lovely run for me at Rushcliffe this morning for 18:26 which is a 15 sec course PB so well pleased with that. 4th again though, and after 192 goes I've still not managed an imaginary podium there

Larks I was stuck on 20:01 for three years so you'll need to crush those two seconds soon!
I hope 2nd junior was running with someone else being under 11 😉
Great family day put by the sounds of it.
Uyuni shouldn't you be on the sub 18 thread...

Great run Uyuni!
Curly, I was with him for the last 200m, and I'm sure my wife could see him for the first mile or so
Not done a parkrun with all six of us present for a while so that was fun (for most of us - there was one voice of dissent!!)

19:31 for me last Sat on our local course, which is slow. Enough to reduce my runbritain handicap by 0.4!!
Florence parkrun on 5th May will be my next chance... the course record there is 19:55 but the overall country course record is 18:54 which is MIGHTY tempting to have a go at depending on how much wine I drink on the Friday night
