Another new thing today. I went for a swim in the hotel outdoor pool. First swim I've logged on Fetch for ages. Really enjoyed it!

A bit of a long one today. (Pages 112-144; written in 63 sections, each with a newspaper-style headline) Leopoldo Bloom goes to the offices of the local newspaper and attempts to place an advert for Keyes. Hynes is there to deliver his report of Dignam’s funeral. Bloom explains that Hynes could get some cash from the cashier before he goes for his lunch. Hynes doesn’t pick up on the hint that he owes Bloom some money from 3 weeks ago. The foreman, Myles, tells Bloom that the advert must be paid for a 3 month renewal. When Bloom leaves to check this with Keyes, Steven Dedalus arrives, bringing a letter from the school master about Foot and Mouth disease. The newspaper boys run out to the street, shouting the headlines. Steven takes the editor and some colleagues to the pub so has left by the time Bloom reappears. Leopoldo is unsuccessful in his attempt to place the advert as Keyes will pay for 2 months. Myles tells him to KMRIA (kiss my royal Irish arse).

Velociraptor
My early bedtimes have fallen away while I've been on holiday and need to restart. Reading material has gone off-piste but I'm back on it with the garden.
