Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Everyone says Chuck it in and come back and soup is made ….that’s what I do with my pan - I don’t watch over it.

Using the stick and avoiding getting covered in soup is the best bit ;-)

Yes, it's a non-essential item, but I don't think I'd trust my dexterity using a stick blender given that I have Parkinson's and am prone to the odd shaky episode. For that reason, the soup maker really is useful.

Fizz :-)
I like to make massive batches in a saucepan, and freeze for later, so don’t think I’d bother with a soup maker. Although I can see the appeal for ease and speed. And not having to eat the same flavour for days on end ;-)

We usually make 4 to 6 portions and eat typically on the day of making (stick blending hot soup adds to the peril) then a couple of days later. Two portions go in the freezer

I’m toying with a cheeky cauliflower and potato job this evening

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
It’s got to that time of the year when soup is king!

Last winter I was wfh and happily heated up soup knowing that no one would know if I was late back to work (not that I took breaks anyway!).

Now I’m back in the office I’m reluctant to use the tiny kitchen as it’s well used and little cleaned. So thought I’d dig out my food flask and take hot soup/ food in with me. This also allows warm food post lunchtime walk or run.

Which leads me to ….. soup makers.

To buy or not ...
