A skipping minute is different to a normal minute. It's in one of Einstein's laws.
Repeated day 1 (3 mins with 1 min rest) this morning. Got past 45 seconds unbroken on the first one, then did solid 20-30 second bits within the other minutes. I'm not going to move on until I can do 3 continuous unbroken minutes at least once!

I did more this morning and was consistently getting mid 20s for skips but struggled to get more. I did log a 37 on my last go.
It really is hard work though and much harder than running even with short bursts and with a bit of squats and lunges in between.

Haven't yet tried to incorporate the skipping into a circuit myself. I'm a bit scared to try as I know already that timing and coordination go a bit as I get more tired. It'll happen sooner or later though and I'll report back so you can point and laugh at how badly it goes!

I'm going to try and squeeze another skipping session in at some point today. I think I'll pass on doing as part of a circuit - I have enough trouble skipping without adding being tired to the mix!

I find doing it in a circuit helps as you get a break. I have been having maybe half a dozen shots of 20 skips then a few squats and lunges then repeat.

Did my attempt this morning when I got home from an interval session. I did 34 seconds before checking the watch on the first set, 43 seconds on the second set and 49 on the third - although each time I stopped because I thought the time was up, not because I needed to (although it was hard) so will set a timer next time so I can hear when the minute is up and see if I can manage at least one continuous minute.
I used to do a boxercise class that feaured a lot of skipping, but I think it must be about 9 or 10 years since that finished - it was hard today, but I was pleased that I could actually (seemingly) remember how to skip properly. I used to be able to be able to do some stuff other than basic skipping, I may try later in the week to see if I can still do single leg skips, but think I will hold off trying crossovers or double unders for quite some time as I fear that could end in tears!

Second session for me. Still spent a chunk of my time tangled in rope and averaged 2 jumps per go which is an improvement on yesterday. Also found I did better when I didn't look at my feet!
I'll keep plugging away and hope for more tomorrow....

Did day 2 (4 mins throughout the day) today - got to 54 seconds without stopping, had a bit of an issue with my watch after so didn't make a note of how long each section was, but had three more breaks after that (two of those when I failed to clear the rope, so technique clearly is a bit rusty).
Has anyone else had pain/discomfort in the balls of their feet while skipping?

No pain or discomfort for me, but I have been feeling quite stiff which could also be as a result of the squats/lunges I am building in as part of the routine.
I took a day off today and will do another circuit tomorrow morning with the skipping in there. Depends how I feel but may do some skipping after tonights run. See how I feel !

I had pain in the balls of my feet at the beginning but I was just wearing ordinary shoes. When I started changing into my running trainers it got better.
