Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’ve just bought a skipping rope, but yet to use it in anger. I’ve set the length iaw the instructions but it seems too long. I’ll probably have to play around with the length until it suits.

Helpers, I was rubbish to start with but after 3-4 days I got a lot better and could regulate my breathing. Don’t go too quickly at first, try one jump per second.

I've been called worse CW.

Actually I've been called worse today.

I'm sure it's just practice. I don't think I'm doing anything fundamentally wrong and I've checked the length of my skipping rope. It's about right.

I just need to practice. More of the same tomorrow.

Got my 3 x 1 minute done this morning. Definitely getting better. It's a timing thing. I get into a rhythm and can keep going for 30+ seconds each time, then broken bits and bobs through to the minute. Definitely spent more time skipping than untangling today though.

Nellers, spot on about the timing. I'm utter rubbish as unable to get the timing right.

Never been able to skip but after listening to the past couple of podcast episodes I've invested in a rope from Amazon. What's the worst that can happen?

I got round to starting skipping this morning. 25 mins interspersed with some kettlebells and lunges.

OMG skipping is hard. First set I barely managed one. Second set I was getting closer to 10. Thirds set I got to 26 and I wrapped up with a 30. It doesnt half get the heart pumping though and I can still feel it now !
