Little steps forward. I did the 3 x 1 minute thing again tonight. On both the first and second minute I had an early tangle then got going. 92 both times when the clock ran down. Stayed disciplined and didn't push it. Anyway, 92 is a new PB and I did it twice so it's not a fluke! ![]() |

I did skipping as a station in my circuit tonight. 6 rounds and each included 30 skips. I did set myself the proviso that they had to be unbroken and stuck to that for the first 5 rounds. Only had one where I cocked up and that was very early so just started again. The last round I ballsed it up on 25 twice and was pretty knackered by then anyway so just called it! Still, quite a bit of successful skipping done there I think. |

Pretty good progress Nellers. I am managing the full minute once or twice in a session, strength of wind is a factor.

Well done Nellers and UC, good going. After missing two days I did day 6 today, another 3 x 1min with 1 min recoveries. As I was trying to count the reps I'm not sure how many seconds it was on the occassions when I got the rope caught, but in the first minute I got to 57 before I caught the rope, straight back to it and managed 113 in the minute. Second minute I managed a whole minute without catching the rope of my foot and managed 118 reps, on the last minute caught my foot early on 22nd rep, but managed 112 in the minute. I forgot to make a record of how many I was doing in a minute at the start, but I think it was just over 100, so it looks like there is an improvement. Used the Garmin again, mostly for the timer, but it measured 10 reps for the first minute, 81 for the second and 8 for the last, so clearly way out on what I'm getting. I saw someone had suggested the Plyometrics+ app, so I got that from the Garmin Coonect store the other day, and tried it out at the end of todays session. Did 10 skips, it measured 0. Tried again, moving the rope a bit quicker and jumping a bit higher - recorded 9 out of 10 this time. Tried another 10, it recorded 6. Not sure if this means I'm doing it - the skipping - wrong, maybe I should be jumping higher or turning the rope a lot quicker? |

Day three was a bit of a disaster, but today I seem to have found a bit of a rhythm. Right or wrong, I’ve discovered that doing a little bounce between jumps helps. I’ve still got been able to get over 37 on the trot, but as Silvershadow said, it will get better.
