Here's a question I've been pondering... Can you have a 'pretend' skipping rope and move your hands and jump at the same time, does that have the same effect? |

I’m sure I saw Sharkie post somewhere earlier on the thread that ‘pretend’ skipping was just as good if you didn’t have a rope.

On the question of ropes - I’ve seen some people refer to adjustable ropes, does anyone have any recommendations?

amazon.co.uk That's the one I got Jennyh. It was the cheapest of that type I could find that had a reasonable delivery time. It's been fine so far but it's hardly a longterm test yet. |

Steel cable? Wow, does that hurt if it hits you? I have the same type of handles but with a plastic 'rope' that I got from Runners Retreat in Marlow. It’s like the type that Dan The Skipping Man uses and he sells them from his site.

Cheers Nellers, I’ll give that a go (the one I have at the moment is non-adjustable and has wooden handles). Hadn’t heard of Dan The Skipping Man CW, will have a look at some of his You Tube videos |

It's more a wire than a cable and it's so light it doesn't hurt at all. The light weight means that it's easier to get it moving quicker but it's probably a bit more affected by wind.
