WP - you need to keep that hedge, if only to keep those nasty neighbours out of sight.

Big G - Re your experience with BT/my company, I think there is also so much reputational risk for these big companies in such a situation in this supposedly socially conscious day and age that they have to try and be accommodating.

Won’t spoil it but enjoyed today’s stage too. Been a cracking tour so far.

12 miles for me including 2 x 15min tempo (with a 5 min jog) which is the workout I’ve been running weekly for a couple of months now. Niggles were all quiet.

Seems all the majors are tightening up with QT over the last few years. I suppose more were achieving them and the other races getting stricter people were choosing CHI.

Sore throat seems to be fading, should be okay for Saturday. Yet to decide 5 or 7 laps will see how I go for time and how organised I can be for marshalling after.

Ordered a pair of Brooks Adrenalines £72.50 inc delivery from start fitness, same as the ones at I’ve just started wearing this week.

Elle got a place on London landmarks HM ballot so hoping she’ll get back into running again soon.

Shades - Sorry I’d missed that you were also doing Newport. Have you done it before?

Rcouture - good the niggles are behaving themselves today.

Yes, I ran Newport last year. Impressed with organisation etc. Had entered this year but was injured.

I see the new Superblasts are being launched.

Rob - glad you're feeling better, a bargain price pair of shoes helps 😉

It's a lucky year for ballots in your house.🙂

Went to bed early, intending to get a couple of hours sleep and then get up to watch the election results. But didn't fall asleep so on the sofa now. Election results might make me nod off.

No run this morning, had planned a rest day, just as well as I'm tired. Went to bed in the early hours but didn't sleep well.

Thankfully we've had some rain overnight, at last.

WP - hope the run went OK.

Keith - well done, a new career in politics perhaps?🤔

Rob - good luck for tomorrow's marathon (or ultra if you feel like an extra lap).

Dozed off for 10 minutes on the sofa but don't feel that tired considering lack of sleep.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
