Big G - good run from you today. Embracing the hills ready for Central Park.πŸ™‚

I've seen similar comments about shoes with Goretex, water resistant socks perhaps?

Rcouture - that's good to hear that the achilles are pain free post race.

Rcouture, 11 seconds slower than PB is actually really excellent given the humidity. You should definitely be proud of that.

5 miles this morning, very humid again but a gentle breeze in places. Saw my kingfisher again.

Gym later.

10 miles this morning on my regular 10 mile route. Loads of runners out this morning for some reason.

Busy day today as have to be in Brixham soon, and then Exeter late morning.

A young couple who met at Trotters are getting married soon, and are doing their local parkrun before the wedding and have invited clubmates along. I may try and get along if I can, as it used to by local event too and I’ve not done it for a little while.

WP - thanks, but training is not going well.

Enjoy your PT session. I've signed up for a 6 week course in weight lifting in the gym, only 30 minutes a week as each week specialises in one exercise/lift.

Big G - maybe a last rush of teachers out running, I think schools are back tomorrow.

That's a good way of not inviting fellow running club members to the actual wedding πŸ˜‰

That sounds like a nice course at gym.

Still rubbish at sleeping but did session and strength not suffering 60kg trap bar dead lifts x 8 reps x 3 sets.
But binned the run went for walk and went to bed for a....2 hour napπŸ™„

WP - good session with your PT today. That, a walk and a good nap is a successful day's training.

I never run after weights, always before.

I went to the gym, but am just doing an hour at a time now. The 80 minute sessions last week were too much and I wasn't recovering well.

There are 6 places on this weight training course but someone has snuck their name on the bottom of the list to make 7, but the other gym instructor is thinking about doing similar course so should be OK.

Just rescheduled my Royal Mail delivery of my new shoes for Thursday as I'll be out tomorrow (dentist) when they wanted to deliver.

We have to leave just after 8am so no time before to run.I used to run post session but not this year. A reason I keep a rest day.

Sounds like there maybe two courses as popular.

Not long for your new shoes πŸ™‚

WP - sensible to make it a non running day then.

I'd like my new shoes now please.πŸ™ƒ

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
