Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Fragile Do Not Bend
[My hair isn’t as long as yours RH, but it’s below collar bone length so if I’m not washing my hair I put it in a ponytail and stick that to my head using a big hair grip thing. Keeps it out of the way of the water. ]

I occasionally need a shower cap in hotels when I can’t keep my hair dry without - I picked up one from an hotel bathroom about 20 years ago, it lives in my washbag and still works when required...

When staying in the Hotel Gelert in Budapest, you have to have a swim cap to use the in-house swimming pool. Me and youngest hadn't come with those so we used the shower caps from the hotel room. They were rubbish - they just filled up with water and you ended up towing your massive head along through the water! :-)

I can confirm that ITG is the last person to need a shower cap, and I’m lolling at shampooing a shower cap :)

Damn, lost concentration and thought I was posting on the single use plastic thread. Which I suppose counts as a senior moment in a way. 🙄

Not my senior moment, but my parents'.
Mum got a new mobile phone (£9.99 Tesco pay as you go). Dad got Mum's old phone. Neither can understand why the car Bluetooth has Dad's phone connected, but not Mum's new one. Tried explaining that the car wasn't informed of the change of ownership, but basically had to go down the route of 'it's like magic'

Think SIM card is probably over 20 years old. It could only hold 30 contacts so had to swap back as forth to get them transferred.

Also laughing at shampooing a shower cap :)

I have a couple of hotel shower caps; they're useful when painting, especially if what you're painting is a ceiling.

Two transport related senior moments last week. On Friday I ran to work and took the bus home. As I got on the second bus up the hill, I said a cheerful "morning" to the driver, it was 6:15pm.
On Thursday I drove to and from work, something I do about once a week. As I was driving up the hill, I realised I had turned right at the bottom on auto pilot. Rather than taking the road that leads directly to my house, I took the route the bus takes. I don't think I've ever even driven up that road, because it is only an efficient route to my house if you also want to visit most of the bus stops on the way. At least I didn't do the extra out and back the bus does!

About This Thread

This morning I went to charge my kindle and instead found myself trying to charge my coffee mug. It was my third coffee of the day as well, clearly not strong enough!

=============

I was just drying my hair after a shower, I switched the hairdryer on and suddenly the bedroom was plunged into darkness, the hairdryer wasn't working either. Great, the electrics have just tripped out.

I find a torch, go to the fuse box but nothing has tripped - turns out I pressed the light switch instead of the hairdryer 'on' button.
