For musical instruments and equipment then it all depends on the value and type. For recording equipment then places like soundonsound are worth trying, but honestly the specialist FB groups is where I would start (Groups, not marketplaces)

Quick check shows my Tyrannosaurus Rex Unicorn double album - Blue Label UK Vinyl selling for £205.00. And my octagonal Rolling Stones Through The Past, Darkly [Big Hits Vol. 2] - 2nd - EX UK Vinyl LP - amighty £263.00 That'd be a start! I don't really want to part with the Stones one but nearly £500 for the two.... |

I've sold a lot of books on Amazon and other stuff on ebay (including 2 quite expensive bikes and lots of small stuff). I've heard vinted is good for clothes but I haven't used it.

I listed 4 dresses on Vinted about a month ago. One dress with matching jacket (Coast) sold straight away but the other 3 haven't had much interest. I'm thinking I put dresses on at the wrong time of year so maybe in the spring or summer they might move. I'm in no rush as I've been meaning to do it for years, so having finally listed a few is at least a bit of progress. |

VP sold an assortment of stuff on Vinted. Tink likes Depop but I think she's more buyer than seller. I've used Marketplace and eBay. No huge problems but the process gets tedious and there's always the risk of landing a petty fraudster or recreational grumbler.

I use eBay quite a lot and it can be a mistake to look at current asking prices. One of the most useful bits of the eBay search function is the ability to filter and select either "Completed" items or "Sold" items and see all the auctions that have finished in the last three months. The "Sold" items option gives you a really good indication of what your item is really likely to sell for. The "Completed" items option shows all the sold and unsold items and demonstrates that a lot of eBay sellers are over-optimistic or greedy. Sorry, not wanting to burst your bubble on those discs, Shark the Herald Angel, but those prices may never be achieved! I know you're not talking about eBay, but the principle is probably the same. |
