Beecraigs to lithgae is easy enough, theres a wee multi use path that runs parralel to the main road as you come down the hill,

Should be some way from Bathgate over

Ive run from Lithgae to Bathgate. Same as Rab says using the path to Beecraigs then its the road up past the war memorial, The Vu restaurant & down to meet the Torphicen Road near the sports centre. Nicely undulating ! :-)
When are you looking to run it ?

thanks for that guys. I was hoping someone may know a route off the road on the Bathgate side, as people do drive like nutters on that narrow windy road and I don't want to be Fetch flavoured road pizza.
>Dave I am hoping one weekend over the next few weeks to have a go. Had a few weeks off after Greenmantle so need to get back on that horse.

Watch out in Beecraigs FF. There are still quite a few trees down and in the way depending on your route. You should be able to get through but it may take you a wee bit longer than anticipated.

Trees down on (and in!) canal between East Calder and Ratho. You can step over as a runner, lift a bike as a cyclist through and over, but a buggy would almost def be a no, no. And no kayaking! :-)G

Happy, I was thinking of 20 miles out that way tomorrow.....is it OK as far as Ratho ? I could go to Ratho and down to ratho station - but that owuld require me to revsisit the scene of my head wound and the damned low hanging road sign !!!!

Hope your run was OK Bazo. Was too busy ceilidh dancing over weekend to run or Fetch. For clarity - is passable as a runner, right past Ratho and on to Broxburn, as long as you're happy to slow to a walk, clamber and restart thereafter! :-)G
