Yep. Still get out early! Like steve45 said, quieter roads etc... Also means I can fit in my weight training sessions easier. Gives me a longer gap after I've run. And also go for my walks with Mr Ness.

I've been out for a bimble this morning and opted for 45:45. It worked well - in that I managed 2.2 miles without needing any extended walk breaks. I'll stick with that for a while.

My current plan is 10 minute warm up, 10 minutes of really short* run intervals with a decent recovery, then 10 minutes walking recovery.
It’s not causing any issues and it’s great to be doing something.
* max 15 secs but usually about 10 secs; it works out at 15 mins/mile

Good ratio and good effort GimmeMedals. My 2.6 was again at 20/30. I wonder whether I could increase that but in truth I get worried when HR goes too high (for me). Been a nuisance now for a couple of years and I won't feel ready to burn rubber (!) until I've had my heart checked out. Sensible plan XB that's working well.

Definitely better to be cautious until you know Steve
I had a great run home yesterday 6m in total and despite a slow 1st mile my average pace was below what I need for Chester AND I missed the torrential rain
I did the first mile and a bit at 30:30 as a needed warm up then ran to feel and not many walk breaks which was great. Rain on and off at the start of my run but not heavy and still warm
But I have a stiff ankle this morning which is less good so rest today. Last proper long run Sunday of 12m then taper down

Great that you are able to start running again, XB, an a very sensible approach to it. If 20/30 is working well, steve45, and increasing it worries you, then stick with it until you've been checked out. It sounds like a confidence boosting run home last night, EP.

Ankle exercises EPixie! But hey, good distance done there. You don't need to be on cut off pace until the actual day when you'll be in a different zone. I did very slightly increase my run part of the ratio. From 20/30 to 25/30. I survived for 3.5 miles! Absolutely perfect weather.

That's good news steve45.
I did parkrun 45:45 this morning and finished 65 seconds faster that I did 2 weeks ago when I used 30:30. It felt comfortable all the way and no extra walk breaks needed, so the extra 15 seconds of walking is helping.

Fab improvement GimmeMedals! And comfortable too. Yeah, do those exercises Pixie! A few times a day. Continued with my slight ratio increase today over 2.5 miles again. I did a "doubler" or two on the runs but my HR brought me back to my current reality.
