Did Wolverhampton half marathon this morning. First 5k at 60:30 then changed to 45:30 up to 6.5 miles then down to 30:30 (my favourite ratio) to mile 11. Last 3km were hard so changed to 25:25 just to get them done. Ave pace overall 11.59mm

My lsr was w/u, 2 hours at 3:2 r:w, c/d. Really pleased with 12+ miles at sub-11 minute/mile average. :)

That’s a really good pace and a sensible use of r/w to how you feel.

I’m still out of action but have a plan to add little (and I mean little) bits of running to a short walk. So short that it will take longer to get ready than it will to complete the walk-run.

Baby steps.

Did 10miles - started off run-walk, and then the walk breaks became a bit longer (possibly because there was chatting/photo taking going on). Still, significantly further than anything I've done this year and feel happier with a (deferred) HM later in the month!

You gotta have sympathy for that guy who had the accident. There's plenty of scope to laugh (and I admit I did) but that's not the ideal way to finish a race.

Muttley yes, I felt bad for him when I saw the photo. It must be something every runner dreads!

Some seriously impressive distance run/walkers here! Brilliant efforts lin50, jenHB and OTHT. Good to see that pace progress Night-owl. Hope you're back in action soon XB.
Another 5 miles at 20/30 early this morning which keeps me stable but need/want to see progress over the coming months. Not ready yet to increase the ratio....

But you're still at it, Steve, that's what matters. Although how you can be up at the crack of dawn to do it is beyond me. I tried early morning running once. It went great and I felt energized and alive for the rest of the, erm, morning -- and then zonked out straight after lunch :-) Mid morning for me, after breakfast and half a dozen cups of tea.

5.5 miles today at 60:30 in a howling gale but pleasant nonetheless.

Oh, and definitely after attending to the morning constitutional, to avoid what happened to that poor chap above!
