Morning plan 2-3m steady run with little bit of walking using HR

Actually 2m mainly walking 2 stops to stretch very tight calf possibly related to fall and annoyed pixie

Tomorrow’s long run will probably be a long walk to get time on feet

5.5 miles this morning at 60:30 and taking it gentle on the running segments. Just an easy bimble along the coastal path. In a stiff headwind and driving rain, which was a novelty. Not sure if wet or dry sand is harder to run on but I enjoyed it anyway.

Overall pace was 12:10 m/m, so a gentle run indeed.

steve45 I hope your come-back materialises. Which 8-miler are you considering? Liswerry? I am shattered after yesterday's 4 miles; will never see 8 miles again.

Good pace there Muttley and novelty conditions! Still no rain here.
Now it's serious...no walking Pam and 10 minute miling, fabulous!
Take care with a very tight calf EPixie, a long walk is wise but maybe a day or two rest with some massage/roller.
Blimey I remember the Liswerry 8 Evangel, going back to the early 1980's when I would have done it at around 6.20 pace! My "comeback" will never be a race, the eight miler would be one of my old training routes .
No run today.

Morning!
Went out ready for shirt run and long walk.

Did 30:30 nice and steady but felt ok so carried on
Did 7.25 in total rather than the 12 I had planned but pleased

Steve45. Wow 6.20pace, even if it's 40 years back, I don't think I've seen that pace ever on my watch even for a second.

Seeing a 7 on it is a rare experience. 🤔

Good going Pix. And Pam, I bet you could see a 6, given the right prep and conditions

I did a kind of experiment on myself. On Friday I did a run/walk at 100/50s pace. Mostly flat, mixed, sometimes uneven terrain. Nice enough as an outing, but felt an undue effort in the legs for 8:09 km ave pace. 3.35 km, so ⅔ of a parkrun.

Then the next day I decided to keep the ratio the same for parkrun. Similarly mixed and uneven, but more rolling. 7:16 km pace. (I did run through two walks). The relevant ave hrs were 130/154 bpm; 54/72% awhr. I noticed that my hr recovery in the walks was 15-20bpm.

Decided on a 45/30 today. Did 3.66 miles pace 12:59 nice to be under 13 min miles.

Up the pace in a few area. Pleasant surprise in one 45 second segment to be 9:32 pace doesn't sound much but not seen that pace in years
