Fortunately Saints haven't been too great in the past couple of weeks either and perhaps the change of coach will have some impact on the players? The appointment of Richie Myler as director of rugby seems quite a strange move though.

As a Saints fan, I am nervous about the game. We are picking up a few injuries, and Hull will have the new manager bounce. There again, we could be stung by two defeats and play like something possessed. Who knows?I'd agree on Richie Myler, I dont quite see it, and can't see it being an appt that wins the fans over. Seems like a Dennis Wise to Newcastle sort of move.

It’s not going down that well in West Hull.

I don’t want to libel the guy but it appears to me that his appointment is linked to his father in law putting money into the club.

It seems strange in itself that Andrew Thirkill, a lifelong Leeds fan and current club President, would want to invest in Hull FC, unless he really is just buying his son-in-law (and daughter - she is a keen RL fan?) a job.

I was thinking last night Swittle would be enjoying Trinity’s season. Another good win yesterday. Sadly Hull, although improved, still lost.

I don’t understand the RL system where players are signed now for next year. Hull have just signed John Asiata from Leigh. How will he be feeling when Hull play Leeds.

We seem to be adding some experience to next years squad. I do hope we are improved next year as this year is dismal.

Yes, it's starting to look like Trinity could go through the championship unbeaten. Funny how relegation seems to have set the club on such an upward trajectory with crowd numbers and so on.

Tony Smith had such a great track record as a coach, over many decades, which makes it hard to understand how it has gone so wrong at Hull. Away at London next Sunday, that's a game both teams will be targeting as a must-win.

Certainly is. I had hoped to get there but enthusiasm levels are very low.

I think with Tony Smith it’s a case of being past his use by date. He didn’t do much at HKR and was a cheap option for Hull as he still lived close by.

About This Thread

Maintained by Cerrertonia
As suggested on the blog of the esteemed @kev-eats-owt this is a place to discuss all things relating to rugby league. The Superleague season kicks off this weekend, the NRL in early March and hopefully we have a world cup to look forward to in the Autumn.
