Thank you for everything you've done with respect to Swittle fetcheveryone and in particular for those lovely thoughts you expressed so well yesterday. We're lucky to have you looking after us and the site so thoughtfully.

Finally I’ve managed to watch the service, many thanks to fetcheveryone . I’m probably going to go back in time on the streakybacon thread to revisit some good times 🙂

I'd just like to thank all the Fetchies who attended swittle's / Prof's funeral on Friday, and all of you who were able to watch over the 'tinternet. It was a joy for me to have the chance to chat with people and touch base about their memories of him. Little did I know that the fateful May day in Clissold Park would lead to such an outpouring of heartfelt affection and respect for my friend 41 years later. Boy, was he special, and isn't this site special.

For FRU - the Martlesham 10k was in 2014 (I think) - I'd class it as a fast trundle.
Finally - thanks to Ian for his fab words - he had 4 minutes to say them and he made each one count.

Oss thank you for your kind words, about Ian and this site.

According to swittle's race record (one of the wonders of this site), his Martlesham 10k was on 13th October 2013 and he ran it in 54:03.

Thanks Flatlander - a couple of details - that was on swittles 60th birthday (it had to be celebrated in such a fashion of course), and I finished I believe in 54:04. In deference to the older man.

Thank you Oss for saying your kind words. I do wish I had got to meet this very special man. He touched so many lives.

About This Thread

Maintained by Lip Gloss
Never met him in person but always came across as a lovely man.

If you read about his nightly beach runs you could almost have been running along beside him.

He always encouraged others especially on the How was your run thread.

Hope all your beach run are still as perfect as they were while you were here xx

Funeral 5th April 1.30pm at the Thornton Garden of Rest, Lydiate Ln, Thornton, Liverpool L23 1TP
