So, for those of us that picked Chi Running for whatever reason, what are the main differences between POSE and Chi running? Aside from the chi mumbo jumbo, of course. :) It's just that it all looks very similar from my perspective: same end goal and people seem to run in the same sort of way as a result.

Oh dear...active Chi and POSE threads...

I smell trouble ahead...crusades and thread raids... innocent people put to the sword just for their flavour or their way... dinner monies stolen by gangs of bullies in cheap sweaters

It's CT, he directs this shit, fear him and his witchcraft

A curse on you Harry
may your frown ever deepen and your cynicism ever be present - Oh too late

Alexander technique is about alignement and pose is abou alignement. Malcolm Baulk - the author of the aforementioned book is a pose coach and he borows heavily from pose when he teaches (with acknowledgement)

The differencebetween pose an Chi is about how each set out to achieve the holy grail of landing under the centre of mass of the body. Chi actively aligns the body - pose alignement happens as a consequence of toming and positioning.

nrg what time is kick off - I am still negotiating a pass

That's it. The book's not actually a pose book but is written by a Pose coach.

It is very very good McNewbie :-)

CT, isn't there also the difference between the active pull and pelvic rotation? Not that I want to intrude on a Pose thread as a ChiRunner... I mayl just lurk from now on.

If anyone in the Edinburgh area (or elsewhere if you fancy a weekend away) is interested in a POSE workshop, being run by Cabletow, drop me an fmail with your email address. I have plenty names from Fetch and outside fetch (yes other people do exist ;)) but as with all these types of things there are bound to be people who can't make it for one reason or another. Likely to be June/July time.

About This Thread

Maintained by cabletow
If you want to get people to watch you running - you need to video yourself using your mobile phone or digital camera. Side on, full length for a few strides, is sufficient. Use a cloud storage system as discussed here

http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=47880
And share the file with a coach or coaches for constructive comment, either in private or on the thread if you dare.
