I know (or rather knew) two people who were convicted of not dissimilar offences probably about ten years ago. Both got suspended sentences - unless sentencing rules have changed significantly since then this doesn't look out of line

I work often with the probation service (teaching art) and the sentence he got is what I would expect. I agree with TR, it doesn't look out of line.

Crimes against property versus crimes against the person. Interesting how our society treats these differently.

I agree. Just because I think the sentence is expected, doesn't mean I agree with the sentencing guidelines.

Just out of interest, those who think Edwards should have gone to prison, how long would you think he should have been given and how do you think that would rehabilitate him? Also how much more would he cost over a non celeb in prison?

Like JK said, having to have the program 1-2-1 is going to be expensive and force him to address his offending as opposed to sitting in jail bring protected from people wanting to make a name for themselves.

Junior doctors bring dispute to end by voting to accept Streeting’s pay offer

Good. Impossible to get the NHS back to being a functioning service without having the doctors on board. Eighteen months they’ve been having strikes.

From the BBC:

‘The court heard that in another exchange with Williams, Edwards replied "yes" followed by three 'X's when asked whether he wanted sexual images of a person whose "age could be discerned as being between 14 and 16".’

Apologies if someone has already covered this in a reply.

The cost of which is estimated around £1.7 billion I think.
