(In case anyone hasn’t realised, the actual reason why the tories weren’t criticised for these cruel cuts to winter fuel payments is THEY DIDN’T DO THE CUTS.)

No idea what that is! I shall stick to posting my thoughts on Nextdoor. And here, obviously.

I know. I went on for about a week and then made a swift exit. Too many grumpy old men.

Could you good people of Fetch help me settle a debate.

I said to a friend that the majority of parents that send their children to private school, traditionally vote Conservative.

We had a stand up argument and she stomped off to bed.

Am I going mad? Any useful links would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Anecdotal evidence only (and for the pupils rather than parents):

I went to a private school and we had a mock election, for what would have been the 1992 election. The result was something like 80%+ voted Tory.

Thanks Paul. I found an article about the voting patterns of those who attended private school.

theguardian.com

Twice as likely to vote Tory. I’m struggling on the parent side.

I know politics is so much of values and subjectivity, but “the majority of parents of privately educated children vote Conservative” is a a statement of fact that can be proved or disproved surely?

Suspect you’re right but not aware of any actual evidence.

About This Thread

Name-calling will be called out, and Ad hominem will be frowned upon. :-) And whatabout-ery sits somewhere above responding to tone and below contradiction.

*** NEW US election PREDICTOR *** Predict:

1) Number of electoral college votes Democrats get
2) Party to win the Senate (Democrat or Republican)
3) Party to win the House (Democrat or Republican)

Do the prediction like this: 312 D D - you win if you get the first number right and no-one else does.

Johnny Blaze 360 R D
Bob 312 D D
EarlyRiser 306 R D
LindsD 298 R D
Chrisull 276 R D
Larkim 268 R R
PaulCook 0 R R
