@paulcook My original "Sorry, not getting the connection. What has he got to do with EDL / racists rioting?" was about some footballer who gave his opinion. Was it Stan Collymore? Is he an ex footballer? Why is his view on EDL riots relevant was my question?

Mix of mainly grim, but some also cause for optimism, of viewing on Stan Collymore's Twitter feed tonight. Some shocking scenes in Sunderland, though Liverpool have risen to the threats much better. |

paulcook wrote: Yaxley-Lennon is crying foul because someone has leaked his location while in a foreign hotel. Shameful irony. Do you think it will occur to those he stoked up, as they exit the dock to the back of a G4s van, that he's sunning himself on a beach while they are off for a holiday of a different kind. |

They don’t usually have that level of cognitive thinking. Anyone who gets a swastika tattooed on their back is unlikely to be a member of Mensa. |

Wasn't he declared bankrupt. His supporters are probably gofundme-ing for him to be on holiday / also on the run from his last court appearance end of last month.

He claims he is on holiday, but the location is very convenient as Cyprus seems to have no extradition treaty with the UK.

Priti Patel has come out and very strongly criticised Farage and his ilk for their part in inciting the violence and for the nonense false equivalence between how previous (non-violent) protests and the far right riots recently have been policed. Makes the distinction quite clear. Don't like her, nor her politics, but credit where credit is due. |

Yes, Fozzy, saw that. There's no possibility that she is doing this out of principle, so I am assuming she is thinking that this will improve her chances for the Tory leadership, in that the association with the far right thugs is harming the Tories.

It’s a bit “pan calling the kettle black”. Patel was very anti immigrant and was very vocal about it when she was the HS. It’s definitely a political move as opposed to a moral one. |
