Was just reading over on the BBC about how NATO aircraft based on Romania are not flying over international water above the black sea, to avoid provocation of Russia, but NATO is making that base larger in response to Russian aggression against NATOs near neighbours.

I find it entirely unsurprising that the man who peeled us away from the EU is now having a go at NATO. He and Trump and the other numpties rather admire the Russian model for running countries and their "burn it all down" approach is of course supported by Putin and the usual coterie of useful idiots who happily repeat Kremlin talking points whilst conveniently ignoring the daily atrocities and war crimes being committed on civilians by Putin. Pitiful.

Anyone notice last two days of the campaign, Daily Mail has turned its guns on Farage rather than Starmer on the front page? Today they quote Zelensky saying he's infected by the "virus of Putin".

Pollsters already saying this has got to hit Reform support, as Ukraine is a very popular cause in Reform focus groups. It's also savvy Tory politics, the one way to drive up Tory seats/votes now is to hobble Reform, not Starmer. Mail is riding to the rescue of the Tory troops.

Separately Russia's press officer for their foreign affairs has been praising Farage for Clacton...

But yet again I pose the question here, I see Twitter bots going NATO doubled its size (from 13 to 26?) since the fall of the Soviet Union. Criticial thinking WHY is that? They chose to join, they looked at NATO and the collapsing Russian state (and the subsequent rise of the mafioso Putin) and wanted safety. They weren't forced to join. They chose to. And you can despise the US and UK's roles in wars down the last 50 years and STILL think that Putin and Russia is worse...

Look at when most of those former Soviet countries joined NATO, then look at when Putin started getting his hands on power.

They could see this coming a mile off.

Yet still he has his useful idiots in the UK.

Media: why don't young people vote?

Also media columnists in the times today: young people who ask what conservative policies will have a positive impact on their life are lazy and entitled and are 'whinnying' [SIC]

[where do you draw your “young” vs. “Old” boundary? My prospective Labour candidate is a school friend of my children - she’s definitely “young” (36 fwiw) in my eyes. ]

I am inclined to regard our prime minister as a callow youth.
