The most plausible scenario for us getting PR, as far as I can see, will be if a Labour government loses popularity in their first 3-4 years because the mess they have been left by the Tories is too great to fix and people start to blame them. In the following election they fail to win a majority and have to work with the LibDems who make this a condition of support. Let's just hope that if this happens it isn't as badly handled as it was last time.

More likely once a one-term Labour have crashed and burned we'll have another decade of Tory to look forward to. Labour have made it very clear that they would rather be in absolute power 25% of the time than share power 75% of the time, regardless of the damage to the country. |

Very few of the British public support the bombing of hospitals, churches, the starvation and blockade of civilians But most politicians do. Very few of the British public support the bombing of hospitals, churches, the starvation and blockade of civilians But most politicians do. You seriously believe that? There's not a scrap of evidence to say that they support such illegal acts. I don't disagree that politicians are often more keen to support military engagement than large swathes of the population, but not to commit crimes such as these. (Some politicians probably do though) British people less bloodthirsty than the two main parties and the Archbishop of Canterbury who probably wants the conflict to cause the oil price to go up given his background yougov.co.uk Starmer has the right to self-defence for his awful comments A reminder that he supported cutting off fuel, power, water, medical supplies to Gaza. x.com Over 4000 people killed in Palestine so far but far less condemnation of the IDF. Oh and the lauding of Biden for securing a whopping 20 trucks of aid to come in whilst selling arms to the Israeli occupiers… |

My memory and knowledge of the full possibility and details, but had Blair gone through with his plans to introduce PR, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have had Brexit.

Or a Tory government for the last thirteen years. Cannot understand the reticence.

The Tories won a landslide in 2019 due to a single policy, 'Get Brexit Done'. Take that away and they are left as a hollow shell. No policies, no integrity, no vision, totally inept, morally and intellectually bankrupt. As somebody suggested earlier today, "I hope Labour win the next election, to get the adults back incharge". |

They have nothing left, totally out of ideas. Jet set Rishi is zipping round the middle east. He just looks out of his depth, not a shred of statesmanship or gravitas. Just call an election |

Just call an election. Yep. Nobody, literally nobody, chose Sunak as PM. He's introducing policies in his speech that weren't in any manifesto. And every by-election he's losing tens of thousands of voters. It's as far from democracy as is possible. |
