As much as I agree with both of you, I don’t ever expect any politician (anywhere) to make any meaningful stand against the oil, auto industries, etc. Both have become too powerful and too engrained in our daily existence. Their PR machines simply double down on that. |

That’s right happyG, one misstep and it’s all to lose in this dumb system. You have to choose the hill to die on and amazingly that is still not a green agenda in little Britain. So being just not quite as bad as the tories is it.

Based on our local Facebook and Nextdoor pages ULEZ is indeed a big issue. The overwhelming opinion is that it a tax on hard working people who can’t afford to upgrade their cars. There are a few supporters but not many. (I hope that there are more supporters who just don’t want to engage with the illiterati who frequent local social media)

Ulez is only a big deal because it's been spun into the 15min city/WEF/WHO/new elite etc etc brexiter conspiracy theorists.

Also, why hasn't Starmer yet accepted responsibility for the Covid pandemic? Why didn't he do something about it at the time? As for those who say he wasn't in power at the time, let's face it, we know he would have ballsed it up. It's obvious really. |

I agree with this statement, backed up by the academic statements. "Responding to the findings, James Skeet, a Just Stop Oil spokesperson, said: “There are two strands to civil resistance. One is disruption and the next is dialogue. Time and again, we see that public disruption is necessary to spark the conversations that result in much needed political pressure." They got a £10 donation out of me after a FB ad referring to their recent exploits. G |
