That says nothing, it's make Brexit better which they've been saying all along, just without the SM/CU so how exactly?

I'm not arguing about Labour's position on Brexit any more. It's not where I want them to be and it's not perfect, but I understand why they are doing it. And I do expect them to act differently to the rhetoric if they win the next GE. Anyway, looks like the next generation of Eton attendees are just as nice as their previous classes. bbc.co.uk What is most outrageous is that Farage was allowed to speak in the first place. Private schools really should be shut down. |

I feel that there might be point solutions to do with aligning bureaucracies with EU rules which might save businesses and govt kazillions in unnecessary spend to replace corresponding EU systems. That might be something. But the big ticket items are CU and then SM. Sadly I think even if we decided tomorrow to re-enter the CU it would probably take a couple of years to iron out all the detail, but we have to start somewhere. I think things may start to shift significantly with the following: Labour landslide and the Tories reduced to a stump of a party Various parts of the right wing press abandoning Brexit A consistent 2/3 vote for rejoining in some form Plus the ageing out of all the rancid xenophobes and imperialist nostalgics Don't need all of those but we definitely need "some". PR would also be a major plank but that won't happen. |

This is interesting data. twitter.com The gap in voters U50 with education is brutal for CON. It does explain why they are increasingly enthralled to ideologues. Lack of choice. |

This is also useful data. For when people say it's all Covid and nothing to do with 12 years of Tory mismanagement/austerity and Brexit. twitter.com |

Fine for you not to argue about Labour's position on Brexit, but you posted a link and suggested they'd moves their position which is incorrect. That's basically been their only position on Brexit for a while.

Btw re: Labour and the deficit, all the painful cuts have actually been postponed until 2025, *after* the next GE, which means that whatever govt comes in is going to have to deal with it. There's no political capital in trying to steer a different path away at this point. It's definitely in electoral interests to wait and see what the OBR forecast is in 18months and then take it from there. |
