I think Rishi’s stock went up when he successfully explained the outcome of Truss’s plans in the last leadership debate which turned out to be pretty accurate.
He was also pretty successful with the furlough scheme through the pandemic.
He’s to the centre of the party - his big challenge is going to be how he explains the shit that is coming down the track (and that shit is coming down the track for whoever gets in Tory or Labour) and if he can pull the country (and his party) with him through the next two years. He’s already shown he isn’t afraid to raise taxes.
The fact that his wife has non-dom status (which is entirely legal) is noise that has come and gone.

Chrisull, I wouldn't count on it. There is some kind of psychology going on here which I confess I simply don't grasp, but narcissists like Trump and Johnson seem to be able to get people to humiliate themselves for them, over and over again. Many of those who you would think would bear a grudge for being made to look like utter fools will almost certainly line up for the same treatment from Johnson if they are given another opportunity. Baffling, I know.
