The LBC clip of a Tory member 'on behalf of all members' saying they wouldn't vote for Sunak because of skin colour, is really showing them out as credible informed voters..
It's a horrific, but entirely predictable, clip. However, is there any proof he's a genuine Tory member?

Just for the resident troll(s).
North Korea has only had three unelected leaders since 1945. Tomorrow, Britain gets its fourth since 2016.

Mordaunt might look out of this but if Johnson accepts he can’t make it and all his backers are never Rishi types, she could pick all those nominations up and turn Rishi over in the members vote. I’d not be happy laying her at 25/1 at this point, that looks worth a bet
It looks like Johnson is not actually standing, the closest we have is Rees-Mogg saying he clearly will run, even though it’s about 17 hours until nominations close.
Seems like Johnson refuses to withdraw (when he’s not even officially in it) which spoils any chance for Mordaunt to pick up the never Rishi lot, and there are still many MPs who just want to know who will win so they can back them and see if they get a ministerial position from it.
Even BBC news still happy to swallow the claims from Johnson camp, saying it’s now very likely to be a Sunak vs Johnson vote after tomorrows deadline and repeating their claims that he definitely has 100 backers, it’s just lots of them want to remain anonymous.
Johnson’s only role from here is to keep Mordaunt from getting a chance to beat Sunak with the membership vote

I'm not that big on the unelected leader stuff TBH, it's not how our system works, but the system doesn't really expect you to get rid of one leader and then another one a couple on months later.
I also think there needs to be a way to force a general election if the public really want one and my impression is they do currently.

It's not anonymous based on the current messaging on BBC, whether it's trustworthy is another question.

All the messaging about standing is definitely coming from Johnson's camp. It's an odd one as it seems very late in the day to not have confirmed.

Chris mason said the Johnson isn’t running (1 min ago). Agree with SPR on the unelected leader thing.

Bizarre that Johnson dropped out (with more than 100 votes he says…?!) while I wrote that post
Now for the never Rishi lot to declare their interest…

Sympathies with Zorba tonight, we know he was a Boris supporter, he'll be taking it hard.
