Sunak 140 vs BoJo 57 public declared MPs.
Was wondering if it is really anti-democratic to avoid going to the membership and am leaning towards it being more democratic to ignore them. The MPs represent their constituents and so effectively each one is the voice of thousands. The membership represent themselves, presumably, unless they are tortoises in which case they are all about growth (of salad vegetables mainly). And it is arguably more important to have the MPs behind a leader so that they can function as a an executive.
