Johnson has cut short his holiday and is on his way back (comments here about holidays when Parl is in session and about not doing his job etc etc etc).

Suggests he may have enough backers.....

At least he didn’t cut it short for something as boring as doing his job.

I think it's time that not only are rules brought in to stop MPs from having 2nd jobs (except for cases where professional accreditation requires some ongoing practice - e.g. nurses), but also rules about how and where MPs take holidays and attend parl.

They are paid exorbitant amounts and the fact that Johnson can swan off and do what he wants is wrong.

Much like when Dorries decided to go on reality TV shows instead of doing her job.

Holidays should be much like teachers where leave is allowed in term time, but it is done on a case by case basis where leave is only permitted for certain things.

That or we stop the ridiculously long times when parl is not sitting.

The whole of Westminster needs a major modernisation overhaul.

Agreed. The whole thing needs an overhaul. 16 Tory MPs currently renting out properties in the capital while they claim rent for their living property on expenses. It’s a racket.

Of course it's a racket, like the ex PM grant Truss is eligible for. Currently 6 soon to be 7 taking this.

Perhaps it's the reason the Tories love the chaos.

One of today's headlines say the markets aren't happy at the spectre of a Johnson return.

Bozo quits, tells his supporters to support Mordaunt, who thereby gets over 100 votes. She beats Sunak with the members. Could happen.

Johnson hasn't declared yet, he'll only declare if he's certain he has got the 100 nominations.

I'm still clutching at the straw that there aren't 100 MP's willing to nominate him.

They won't vote for a brown person will they.

Listening to a Johnson Acolyte in R4 earlier, they couldn't actually give a single solid reason why it would be a good idea to have the hoof wanking shit gibbon back, just kept repeating the 'got the big calls right' lie.

Leave in term time was overwhelmingly the exception, rather than the rule, during my 40 years in teaching.

Johnson booed by passengers boarding the plane home according to a Sky journalist on the flight.
