Rishi Sunak: 73 Boris Johnson: 41 Penny Mordaunt: 19
Mordaunt ain't getting there is she?
The rumoured 60ish mps for Johnson could be the ceiling.
I don't know what to think, I hate him, but his election makes it more likely that we could have a general election (not likely), and it will definitely reduce the majority.
And yes the privs committee, plus suspension, plus recall petition, plus losing in Uxbridge is all quite likely.

To be honest, I'm not too worried about bad foreign players hacking the system and rigging the vote, as they couldn't actually do any more harm to the country than the Conservative party members themselves will do.

When he was booted I recall talk that Johnson only had "about 60" diehard loyalists. I hope that's true.

My closest Tory Mp - Ian Levy who has told several lies including that he was a full time mental health nurse has come out on his official page supporting Boris.
He only got voted in in 2019 with a majority of 700. Labour lost 6k votes, 2k went to him and 3k went to brexit party. He will be gone now brexits done. The backlash on his page is significant (and that's the ones he hasn't already blocked which is half of his constituency)
It's a hugely false narrative (that was also peddled at the time) that Tories made huge gains, when there's lots of cases where they stayed steady but the Brexit party allowed them in taking leave labour voters who wouldn't vote tory. They will reverse back regardless who is in charge.

Bob!
BBC Latest tally:
Rishi Sunak - 83 Boris Johnson - 42 Penny Mordaunt - 21
We need to remember that it's 100 nominations to get on the ballot, I guess it's likely that not every MP will nominate someone.
I'm still hoping that just one gets onto the ballot.

I feel exactly the same - incredibly mixed feelings all day about which contestant would be worst in the short and medium term respectively...
