Returning to the previous doubts about the online voting: theguardian.com Cybersecurity experts contacted by the Guardian said altering the leadership result would be difficult for any hostile foreign state, including Russia. However, they said disrupting the process via false claims about the integrity of the process, or hampering the vote with a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, could have an impact among the wider electorate by discrediting the ballot. So people doubting it's integrity is the problem. Aren't we contributing to that issue then by worrying about it? |

Yes, Guido's far for more positive about Johnson's backers. But, given that Guido is a former drug dealer, perjurer and serial drunk driver acting as Johnson's attack dog, he's not exactly reliable - probably trying to talk up Johnson to attract other MPs to back him. |

You seem to be a bit of a dog with a bone on this one, Larkim. I think that reservations and concerns about a hurried election to pick the next PM at a time of national turmoil are far from misplaced. This is a matter of national importance and it’s being thrown together on the hoof by a bunch of twerps who aren’t exactly Stanford University quality tech graduates. This is the Tory Party, who couldn’t even run a 3 line whip the other night without accidentally precipitating the ejection of their latest PM. The precedents aren’t good. I’ve a background in IT and I know a bit about KYC processes, and an election which is cobbled together in less than a week has all the potential to be a train wreck. I’m also wondering why “the members vote” took a month last time and this time they have less than a week. Corners are being cut and in IT world that’s generally a precursor to a balls-up. Still, we shall see. |

Did Guido take Craig Whittaker off, after wrongly putting him on? Meanwhile a reminder Tories have no fucking moral compass: "Tory MP Caroline Johnson tells Times Radio she is backing Boris Johnson to return as PM. Just over three months ago, she resigned as vice chair of the Conservative Party because the “cumulative effect” of his “errors of judgement and domestic actions” " twitter.com |

TBH I think we have more to be coursed about than the integrity of the vote. I have no concerns that if it goes to the members that the winner won't be the members' choice.

I think there are numerous ways it “could” go wrong, starting with members not receiving the communication inviting them to vote and moving on to fake electors, hacking, DDOS etc. But we’ll see. Frankly this mob are capable of any number of screwups and at this point nothing would surprise me, including coverups if they balls it up.

If Johnson gets back in, then gets suspended from parl for 10+ days by the standards committee, he then faces a recall election where the MRP models were showing him losing by ~5% in May. He'll get a right kicking now, especially if PM. We might have another 2 PMs before Christmas... |

You could well be right. And with each one and with each refusal to call a GE we sink further into chaos and the Tories descend further into the abyss.
