I think the only 2 PMs who could "probably" walk down the street unmolested these days are Major and Brown. May, Cameron and Blair would all have ishoos, although personally I think the history books might be kinder to May than her current standing would suggest - particularly if the bloviating buffoon crashes the economy.

I don't think the Conservatives won the election, more Labour contrived for years to make themselves even more un-electable than previously. Or was it their comprehensive manifesto?
Major and Brown both inherited broken parties with back benches full of former ministers.

I have liked what I’ve heard from Lisa Nandy. Comes across well. One for the future.
On flights I’ve made a commitments to no domestic flights in 2020. Being based in Aberdeen and having to go to London once a month it’s going to create some inconvenience. Today I should be attending an all day admin conference in London but pulled out of it as I didn’t think it justifies the flight. I’m feeling quite happy about that on a number of levels.

Nandy could yet become the compromise stop Starmer/stop Long Bailey candidate. She already has more union endorsements than RLB. She's good, although I don't agree with her on Brexit.

We have the “new” sleeper rolling stock which I haven’t used yet but it looks really nice. Unfortunately it comes with a new price as well. I did use the sleeper in the past but found it very hard to actually get any sleep on it.

I like my leaders to evolve from a growing public awareness, rather than just leap forward at leadership election times. I know if I paid a bit more attention then Nandy would be a relatively visible Labour Party individual, but Starmer (and RLB) have been in the public consciousness for a little bit longer with higher profiles. It gives me more confidence in the way they would be accepted by the electorate.

"I still can't get my head around why Bojo isn't an electoral liability, as not a single person I have ever met or talked to thinks about him as anything other than a complete deceitful clown..."
Larkim, did you see Channel 4 news last night (Tuesday)?
They returned to re-interview a focus group in "The North" (I forget exactly where). The group comprised former Labour voters who had voted Conservative in the last election and the point of the group was to see if any of the leadership candidates could convince them to switch back.
But, as an aside, one of the members stated she'd voted Conservative because she liked Boris Johnson's wavy hair! Now I'm not suggesting that everyone should be reading party manifestos line by line before voting, but, FFS, how does anyone combat that sort of decision making?
