Too Much Water
My grandfather was Tito’s pilot on many occasions.
Tito was perhaps the Strongman’s strongman given he dissented against the Communist big powers and established the Non Aligned Group in the UN.
My perception is that the geography, amongst other things, of the Balkans lends itself to tribalism. The nationalism of Yugoslavia I can’t see reoccurring in England.

I see as part of the FlyBe bailout the government have deferred Air Passenger Duty and also committed to review with the possibility of removing or reducing APD. APD is a devolved matter in Scotland and I think we may have increased it. Wondering how that will work

Didn't Tito support the Greek Communists post war and feel out with Stalin as he had agreed to keep out?
Soviet sympathisers real or imagined, were still shipped away to Gulag style prisons.

Great to see that the Tories have worked out how to make sure the NHS won't be missing its A&E target any more! I guess those 50,000 new nurses must have done the trick.

TMW, fascinating about your grandfather. And yes, I can certainly see how the geography of the Balkans influences the politics. I don't think people in this country generally know how incredibly mountainous that area is. The mountains are not the height of the Alps but they're pretty high, up to 2700 metres or so, and they're everywhere. I was really struck my this a few years ago in Montenegro and then again last summer in Macedonia.

That said the nationalist look to Catalonia as a guide on how to gain independence and that’s not a good idea either.

That getting seen in four hour target was always bullshit anyway.
Now, we get assessed at A&E when we go in, and then wait a million hours for treatment.
But because you have been seen, you count as making the target. Its just stupid accounting.
