...as for the C-word I have to make a point of order that the replacement phase of See You Next Tuesday spells SYNT and is therefore rubbish.

The Axe house will vote this evening with latest polling suggesting a 100% turn out and a 3-1 vote for the sitting Lib Dem MP. One of the votes appears to be going to the SNP to give Scotland a voice at Westminster rather than as a support for Independence.
Sadly my MiL had another fall and is back in hospital and so will not register a vote. She is in one of the few seats in Scotland held by Labour and so her lack of a vote might just help them hold that seat.

Sorry to hear MiL-Axe had a fall again. Hope she's OK. Well done all the other Axes for getting out and registering your views. G

Merry Christmas & Happy New G(rrr)
A colleague of mine registered a complaint against someone at work who ended a rather heated call with C U Next Tuesday. Turns out the next meeting he was due to have with him was indeed on Tuesday and he was just being a bit sensitive!
Synt is a rubbish expletive. G

I might have used the C word elsewhere, but not about any one individual, and only because it was the most accurate and appropriate word to use.

Duty dutifully carried out, it was just after 4 so not my usual time of being there, very quiet but it was chucked it down, I heard someone say it had been very busy.

voted about twenty minutes earlier than usual due to my normal train being cancelled - a bit before five instead of a bit after. Very short queue, similar to the last couple of times, but then I live in a very safe tory seat.

Binks owns the sidebar - so I can't see the predictions getting put on there.
I better tighten mine up. I'm going for 38 seat majority to the Tories.
Word from Birmingham Northfield campaigning not good, and the polls if you discard the two extremes (yes I know YouGov were at the extreme last time, and they were correct) which are 5 and 13, then the median/average are round 10 to 11 points. I'm worried the postal votes went in before Johnson stuffed up the campaign spectacularly , and 7 million is an awful lot to bring it back from.
I think best case scenario is hope for a couple of unexpected scalps like Redwood losing his seat and Villiers. Hard to see Raab losing his, they will have looked to shored up his vote, but I'm betting some of the slighter less "current" names could be vulnerable to a binge of tactical voting, especially in nice middle class areas such as Wokingham. Be nice if Cornwall could elect one non-Tory mp, but even that looks a longish shot. But roll on 10.00pm and see you once we've gone through the fridge, on the other side.
