I would think large postal vote is the result of a December election rather than any indication of voting intention.

Voted around 12:15. Steady trickle of people but not busy. I don't usually vote at lunchtime so I've no idea if this is normal or not (but I've never had to queue no matter what time I've voted). |

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
I usually vote on the way to work but today I will be going with Jigs at 4pm.

Fortunately we missed visits of the Party leaders, Oh Jeremy Corbyn at Barry Island on saturday but did end up following the bus and chase cars out of Barry, neither the bus nor the chase cars respected traffic lights on red! Yesterday his lowness the PM visited a local factory. I knew something was up as more Police than we see in a month passed me as I was waiting to emerge from a road junction. 8 motorbikes and maybe 2 cars: I would suggest that they were moving at more than the required speed limit without blues and twos on, too! This was at least 4 hours before his presence was expected so they might have been rushing to visit the burger van adjacent to the factory while they waited. |

Voted around 12:00 and there was a steady trickle of voters going in and out then. Weather not too cold and slight drizzle all day so far. 7K Tory majority here in 2017 in a constituency that voted 68% leave IIRC. Can only see increasing majority here - certainly a comfortable hold. No idea on the National result. I thought Tories would walk last election, so was well out there. If I had to guess I would go for 32 seat majority for BJ.

TMW - 52/48 is 338 seat Tories so 24 seat majority.

I've never had to queue before in our local polling station. But then again, I've not voted there many times. Short day-length and weather forecast may well have skewed people towards the first half of the day. I can hope, but not expect, anything until we get the exit poll. And even that might not be perfect if there's a lot of tactical voting.

Hello all. Just a wee point of order. I was asked to look at a post where a politician was referred to using the C word. I've searched the thread, and found multiple instances of the word, although two were about Scunthorpe. I know emotions are running very high, but if only for my sake, please can you find some more creative terms to describe your favourite elected representatives. Or if you can't find a creative replacement, try putting a statistic in its place. Thanks |
