J2R other than the fact I don't think any poll predicted the result of 2016.

Beat me to it - polls have proven to be somewhat inaccurate lately.

The S*n has the highest readership of any daily but it doesn’t make it the best newspaper. Just because remain lost doesn’t mean they were the wrong side.

I suppose I've been counted as not voting a few times when travelling or living abroad with no feasible way of voting. The postal system is ok if you're in the country and not really needing it, but a bit shit if you aren't. I suppose I could have tried to arrange a proxy but not obvious who I could have trusted. Seems a bit unrealistic to complain that no party represents you. Of course with an effectively infinite set of political opinions available in theory, but only 4 or 5 party manifestos to choose between, none of them will be perfect. The bus analogy is a good one, I think. Of course if you really think that all the buses are going the wrong way, you don't have to choose one, but you are going to get put on one regardless. |

From an article in the Evening Standard in October: "One of the most striking findings is that 204 out of 226 polls since July 2017 have shown Remain ahead, with just seven for Leave, and 15 ties. So far this year, just one poll in the series has put Leave ahead, compared to 74 for staying in the EU. " It seems unlikely to me that 74 out of the 75 polls this year have got it wrong. |

Don't know of the bus analogy come before me following the thread, as I am not sure I follow. If I feel all busses are going the wrong direction, taking too long to get to destination, overly full, dangerous as it looks in poor repair, I just fancy a walk or want to run to improve my for was or ant other number of reasons . I have previously not got on the bus and that was my choice I was often happy with. |

Has anyone else received a personally addressed 'election communication' from the Brexit Party? Unless I'm mistaken, my name should not be on the public electoral roll and I haven't noticed any of the other political junk mail having my name on it. |
